I am so thankful for our various leadership and staff for being so adaptable to this new normal that we find ourselves in. Hope Community Church has continued to "stay open" during this time, and, in many ways be more purposeful in our ministry than ever before. Our various care team leaders are reaching out to individuals, we are creating online spaces for connection as staff, and, I have found that the true care of each member of our church is more than ever before in my memory.
Governor Ricketts said in a large pastoral conference call that those who are apart of churches have a much healthier chance through this epidemic. Because there are a spiritual family of believers caring for the whole person, never before has church meant more.
Will you as a church member do something for me? Please reach out to me or to our various staff when a need comes up? Physical, emotional, or of course spiritual, we are here to bolster one another up in the whole person.
Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians:
9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Be a co-encourager, or call out for help when it is needed. Be rooted in Jesus Christ, and continue to do our common mission of "Moving Persons into a closer relationship with Jesus" regardless of circumstance.
So you have a sense of what is happening throughout the week:

Be on the lookout as many of our ministry teams are considering options to meet, including women, Hope Knights, and other ministries.
Blessed to be your pastor in this difficult time,
Why is this happening? When will it be over?
