STAKING OUR PLACE IN GOD'S KINGDOM!

HOPE COMMUNITY CHURCH held it’s groundbreaking service on Sunday, April 18, 2004 for our new location – south of Pioneers Blvd. and east of Folsom St. and north of the Optimist Sports Complex. This 20.25 acre parcel of land will become home for them as they begin construction later this spring. The 16,000 square foot facility will be designed as a multi-purpose building to meet the various needs of the church family and to serve the needs of the community. Construction of the facility was completed in May of 2005.

After much prayer and consideration the congregation voted to sell or last church building at 42nd and J St with intentions of building the above mentioned facilitied.
Our 42nd and J St location sold quickly so our 250 member congregation temporarily met at Roper Elementary School. We began holding services at Roper on September 2002 on thru May of 2005 while the new building was under construction.

The groundbreaking service theme was “Staking our place for God’s kingdom” – meaning that the church is purposeful in having a life changing impact in our community, state, country, and world. Each member of the church family took a “stake” and wrote a Bible verse, a prayer, the name of someone they were praying for to come to know Christ and then “staked” a claim for God’s promises around the perimeter of the future church building. It signified taking a step of faith and commitment in building God’s kingdom—one life at a time.

We are overjoyed and have been blessed that the new facility is here for our congregation and the for the Lincoln Community.
