As a part of our yearly cycle, Hope will nominate persons for the offices of Elder and Deacon.

​Consistory is the governing board of our church. It is made up of 5 to 6 Elders and 4 Deacons. This board makes large decisions: baptisms, communions, employment, large purchases, maintenance on the building, and reviews the staff to name a very small amount of duties.

Each member—with exceptions—serves a 3 year term per our church’s by-laws. The members ending this year are:

Jordan Wondercheck--Deacon
Kevin Loof--Elder
Jim Sandbulte--Elder

These four Godly people have represented Hope so marvelously well. They embody the qualifications for Elders and Deacons. Biblically, Elders and Deacons are called to be this in Paul’s Letter to Timothy:

Elders
Above reproach
Sober minded
Self-Controlled
Respectable
Hospitable
Able to Teach
Not a drunkard
Not violent or quarrelsome
Not a lover of money
Must manage their household well
Must not be a recent convert
Thought well of by outsiders

Deacons
Dignified
Not Double-Tongued
Not a drunkard
Not greedy
Not slanderers
Sober minded
Manage their household well


All members (female and male) above 18 years old are able to be nominated. Please type in your nomination below and press submit. Persons nominated will then be asked if they would serve, interviewed, and then affirmed by a congregational vote.

It may be beneficial to check with your nominee before nominating them, and, this is a prayerful process.
